Phoenix, Arizona – China's Mlily is leasing a second property in the US to expand production.

The company has taken a 10-year lease on a 643,798 sq ft (5.98ha) site in the Goodyear district of Phoenix. It has good transport links as it is located near I-10.

Mlily plans to employ 300 there when in full production. It aims to take possession of the site in mid-December 2020.

Commercial real estate agent Yan Chen of Colliers, San Francisco said: 'By manufacturing in Arizona, Mlily can continue to provide high quality products at lower cost to US consumers while expanding its global footprint.'

Payson MacWilliams, who also works at Colliers, added: '[The new plant will augment [Mlily's] existing US presence in South Carolina.'

Mlily has been expanding outside China for some time. It also has plans in China, Serbia, Spain and Thailand.

The company inaugurated its plant in Winsboro, South Carolina in December 2019. It also raised money through a private share sale in April. At the time, it said the money was earmarked for its plant in Winsboro and the third phase of an expansion at its plant in Serbia.

The capital boost was originally planned for 2018, but was delayed as the company awaited regulatory approval. In the original 2018 plan, the company aimed to raise CNY800m ($115m)
