Albany, New York -- Momentive Performance Materials Inc. has expanded its marketing and technology operations in Seoul with a new application development centre at the Gasan Digital Complex to meet growing demand for speciality silicone products in Korea.
Accrording to Momentive, this new centre will provide customers with better product development services and technical support for product performance testing and quality assurance, with a strong focus on electronics and automotive applications. It will serve a broad range of industries in the region, including consumer electronics, personal care, coatings and urethanes. Momentive has a significant urethane additives business, supplying a broad range of surfactants, catalysts and other performance-enhancing ingredients for all sectors of the global polyurethanes industry.

Koo Bon-Kwang, Korea Country Manager, Momentive Performance Materials, feels the new centre, "will also enhance our ability to collaborate with customers in the development of innovative applications for the electronics, automotive and other sectors."
The new facility features "state-of-the-art equipment" for workability measurement, mechanical testing, viscoelastic performance, thermal aging testing, temperature/humidity stress testing, optical performance measurement and defect analysis, Momentive said.
