Waterford, New Jersey – Momentive is investing $13m to increase production at its site in Termoli, on Italy's Adriatic coast. The investment will expand its operations into surfactant grades for slabstock.
No capacity was given for the expansion, which is expected to be completed and fully operational by the middle of 2022. In part, it will replace capacity in Antwerp, Belgium, that closed earlier this year.
The new plant will supply customers in Europe, Russia and Turkey, Momentive said.
It complements a new customer service centre, which Momentive has set up in Milan. This will become Momentive's port of call for customer service and support by the end of the year, it said.
'This investment expands our commitment to in-region manufacturing and supply,' said Alberto Melle, Momentive’s global business segment leader for PU slabstock additives. 'These investments position us for long-term, sustainable growth.'
