Telford, UK -- The next Plastics Design and Moulding Exhibition and Conference (PDM10), held from 18 - 20 May 2010 at the Telford International Centre, UK, is expected to provide more opportunities for exhibitors to secure contracts with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) as demand for UK tooling contacts increases.
"OEMs find UK sourcing more flexible, timely and cost effective solution," Gauge and Toolmakers' Association (GTMA) chief executive Julia Moore said in a 24 Nov statement. "The GTMA will use PDM10 to highlight the quality of our own supply organisations and demonstrate to OEMs why sourcing tools from the UK market remains the best option," she added.
According to GTMA, plastics manufacturers are now citing poor quality, long shipping times and the cost of tool modification as reasons for dropping overseas contracts in favour of UK tooling suppliers.
The PDM Exhibition and Conference has been running since 2005. It is part of the Plastics News Global Group owned by Crain Communications Inc. For more information visit: http://www.pdmevent.co.uk (RD)
