Reydel makes cockpit modules, instruments panels, door panels, console models and decorative parts. It supplies these to global automotive OEMs like Renault, Nissan, Dacia, PSA, GM, Volvo, VW and Daimler. While, Renault and PSA are its key customers.
Reydel is Motherson Sumi's 21st acquisition. The Indian firm said the purchase will enable it to capitalise on new opportunities in existing and new geographies. It also gains access to to Reydel's customer list
Reydel has 20 manufacturing sites spread over 16 countries from traditional automotive centres in Europe to emerging markets in Asia and South America to low cost countries of Eastern Europe and Morocco.
Reydel had sales of $1.05 bn and recorded an operating profit of $68 m in 2017. Its operating margin was 6.4%.
