Shanghai, China - Nantong Healthcare Machinery, a maker of CNC cutting machines for flexible foam, in August 2014 developed an upgraded continuous blade cutting machine, the company told UTECH-polyurethane.com in an exclusive interview at the PU China exhibition held here 3-5 September 2014.
"What's special about the new model is the gantry moves instead of the platform," said Lin Changbin, technical manager of NHM. "This can avoid the foam's inertial movement, which affects cutting precision."
NHM's machinery is manufactured in its plant in Nantong, Jiangsu province with a total area of 334,000m².
NHM started in 2003 as a maker of machinery for memory pillows and mattresses, hence Healthcare in the name . Today the company has 90 employees and in 2013 delivered RMB40m ($6.5m) revenue, according to Lin.
"NHM takes up 70% of China's CNC cutting machinery market with 1,200 of its machines in operation," added Lin. "We are expecting a 20% annual growth rate in the next few years, as an increasing number of companies are switching to CNC machinery due to China's rising labor cost."
The company said its business is doing well in China's more developed coastal areas as well as Chengdu, Sichuan province and Wuhan, Hubei province, where there are a cluster of furniture plants and automotive bases respectively.
