Ennigerloh, Germany --Desmovit a joint venture between Geba Kunstoffcompunds and Bayer Material Science has launched a natrural-fibre-reinforced thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) a spokesman at Geba confirmed.
Designated, Desmovit DP R Eco, the product is Bayer's Desmopan TPU combined with 10%, 15% or 20% natural fibres. Geba declined to specify the natural fibre or any other formulation details.
The new product is exclusively produced and sold by Geba, which specialises in the development and compounding of thermoplastic engineering plastics and has production sites in Austria, Germany and Spain, said Geba.
Geba said the products have lower density different mechanical properties compared to those fibreglass reinforced TPU.
