North Carolina, US – NCFI Polyurethanes is to build a new facility in its current home, Mount Airy, about 100 miles north of Charlotte in North Carolina. The company is investing more than $50m in 13,000m2 (140,000ft2) facility in the city’s Westwood Industrial Park
“Our decision to build this new facility in Mt Airy is a testament to our commitment to the community where we began,” said Chip Holton, the company’s president. “We are excited to continue our growth journey in the very place where it all started.”
He added that the support the company has received from both state and local governments has been instrumental in making the project a reality. “We look forward to contributing even more to the local economy,” he said.
The company was founded in Mount Airy 60 years ago, and makes spray foams for applications including geotechnical, aerospace and insulation. It sold its flexible foam business to Carpenter at the end of 2023.
