Hamburg, Germany – Krahn Chemie will soon have a new CEO. Martin John is set to join the company’s management team at the start of May, ahead of taking over as CEO on 1 June. The distributor, whose portfolio includes products for the polyurethane sector, is part of the family-owned Otto Krahn group.
John has been working in the chemical industry for more than three decades. Over the years, he has held leadership roles at Hoechst, Süd-Chemie and Clariant, in Europe, the US and China. Most recently, he ran Clariant’s additives business for the coatings and adhesives sector.
He will succeed Rolf Kuropka, who has been the business’s CEO for 13 years. After the leadership transition process, Kuropka will continue to support the business as an advisor.
“With Martin John, we have found an experienced and highly competent CEO to lead the Krahn Chemie Group and drive its continued growth,” said Philip Krahn, CEO of the Otto Krahn Group. “We will continue to expand our service and consulting offerings, strengthen our focus on sustainability, and leverage the synergies within our corporate group.”
