By Patrick Raleigh, UT On-line/news editorDerrylin, Northern Ireland-Quinn Group is investing Euro12 million to establish a 35-employee flexible-faced insulation board plant in Ballyconnell, Co Cavan, the Republic of Ireland. The 11 000-sq m facility, is likely to come on stream next year and will employ Hennecke equipment, according to a company spokesman. The project, which is subject to planning permission, will mark the group's entry into PU foam production, the spokesman said in a 14 Oct telephone interview. Quinn's manufacturing division already supplies expanded polystyrene products from a facility in Longford, in the Irish Republic. As well as its Derrylin, Co. Fermanagh-based manufacturing unit, Quinn encompasses hospitality, glass and financial services divisions. The group expects 2003 sales of over Euro600 million and pre-tax profits of around Euro150 million.Since its formation in 1973, Quinn has grown to employ over 2600 at locations throughout Ireland and the UK."
