Leslie, Michigan-A new range of water-based mould-release agents from Huron Technologies Inc. has been shown to be "especially effective for moulding urethane foam and elastomeric components," claims the developer.
Aimed at use with spray elastomeric and castable urethane compounds, the new materials allow fast and easy removal of the foam parts from the mould, the company said.
In most cases users do not need additional heat to dry the agent, with the result, Huron says, that there is "virtually no clean-up after moulding."
Huron describes this new line as environmentally friendly, with no hydrocarbon solvents.
Huron Technologies is a maker of release agents for polyurethanes, elastomers and composites, and offers both off-the-shelf and customised mould release agents to meet customers' needs.
