Vancouver, British Columbia – Polyurethane Specialties is developing a new prepolymer designed for cast polyurethane.
The company hopes it will be launched in the third quarter of this year, director of sales John Whitehead told Utech-polyurethane.com at the Polyurethane Manufacturers Association meeting in Vancouver.
‘Heat resistance and abrasion resistance are always a problem with cast urethane,” he said. “The new prepolymer is going to have a higher heat resistance, and higher abrasion resistance.”
The next step in the product’s development, Whitehead said, will be getting samples out into the field for testing.
