Beavertown, Oregon — Nike had total sales of $9.6 bn in third quarter 2019, up 7.0 % on the previous financial year. Gross profit across the business rose by 10.2 %, reaching $4.3 bn in the 2018 financial year.
Sales in the company's footwear business rose 9.2 % between the 2018 and 2019 quarters. They reached $6.1 bn in the 2019 financial year. This compares with $5.6 bn in the previous year.
The company does not break out profits for the footwear section in quarterly results.
Nike added that in the third quarter, unit sales of footwear increased 6%. The company was able to squeeze more revenue out of each pair of shoes it sold, and this added about 7% to footwear revenue growth.
