Philadelphia, Pennsylvania -- Chemtura Corp. has given Anne Noonan the task of leading Chemtura's key growth strategy, which involves portfolio management through merger and acquisition.

"This appointment reflects our determination to actively manage our portfolio of businesses in pursuit of our stated goal of doubling revenues by 2016," said Craig Rogerson, president, chairman and ceo, in Chemtura's 25 April announcement.

"Anne's proven capabilities in running and growing Chemtura's Great Lakes Solutions business will serve well in identifying and executing on opportunities for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, or divestiture to maximise the value to our stakeholders."

Along with the new title of vice president of strategic business development, also keeps her role as president of the Great Lakes Solutions flame retardants, bromine, and brominated performance products business.

To support Noonan in running Great Lakes Solutions, Keith DuPont, vice president of Global Procurement, will become vice president and general manager of Great Lakes Solutions, from 1 May.

As head of Great Lakes Solutions, Noonan led numerous strategic initiatives, including long-term strategic agreements with Tetra Technologies and Albemarle Corp. designed to optimise Great Lakes Solutions' footprint, while redeploying assets to more sustainable, greener technologies.

Noonan was instrumental in developing and implementing a strategy to deliver a technology license with Dow that established Great Lakes Solutions as the first to market with Emerald 3000, the greener HBCD alternative. She also signed a letter of intent with Archean Chemical to set up a joint venture for bromine/brominated derivatives in India.
