Cleveland, Ohio-Noveon Inc. is closing its polyurethane dispersion (PUD) plant in Leominster, Massachusetts, and moving production to its Avon Lake, Ohio, site, where it plans to expand the product line.
The relocation, which is due to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2004, will give Noveon room to expand its PUD operations and facilitate growth in this sector, said Steve Demetriou, Noveon president and chief executive officer.
"We are excited about the future of our Sancure polyurethanedispersions line and the new developments we will be making in PUD technology," Demetriou added in a 17 Dec press statement.
PUDs are typically used in clear wood finishes, coatings and inks."
