Seevetal, Germany - Colours and additives company Novosystems GmbH will be presenting its Novotone Main Colors, which are suitable for polyurethanes and other plastics, for the first time at Fakuma 2012.
Novosystems claims it can create the whole range of shades found in industry standard colour guides, through additive mixing of 15 main colors. The company added that Novotone can be used for both liquid colors and its wax-based Novopearls microbatch.
The German company said that Novotone also benefits manufacturers from a processing perspective. Novosystems said that its trials have shown that for most types of plastics, processing temperatures can be up to 5 - 10°C lower compared to using conventional bulk solids. These lower temperatures apply whether using Novopearls microbatch or classic liquid colors.
The Novotone system also reduces the amount of colourant needed by up to 30 percent, Novosystems said.
Fakuma 2012 will be held 16-20 Oct in Friedrichshafen, Germany."
