South Deerfield, Massachusetts – Nupro, which manufactures PU protective films, is set to at least double its capacity. It is to build a new 11,500m3 facility near to its current premises in South Deerfield, which it has now outgrown. Once complete, the company plans to consolidate operations on that site, replacing its two current facilities.
Nupro plans to invest in up to $10m of new manufacturing equipment. Nearly 60 new jobs will be created.
The state’s Economic Assistance Coordinating Council has approved $580k of tax credits for the project via its economic development incentive programme. A 10-year tax increment financing plan worth more than $300k has been approved by its home town of South Deerfield.
The company’s extruded aliphatic TPU surface protection films are used in sectors such as automotive, wind energy and electronics.
