Cheltenham, United Kingdom -- A PU solution has gone into an innovative toilet brush designed to eliminate the hygiene problems associated with traditional brush type designs.
Duku Design rejected the traditional bristle-ended approach and replaced it with a helical shaped silicone blade.
The prototype master model Loo Brush was created using a vacuum cast process and printed on an SLA machine.
According to Duku’s website, three master models that comprise the loo brush – the helical shapes part, a mould for substrate and overmoulding - were placed in individual boxes, submerged in silicone and cured overnight.
After the master models were removed from the silicone mould, polyurethane was poured into them. Duku used Star-PU Classic ABS for the substrate and Star-PU rubber 30/83 for the helical part and for the over-moulding such as its handle grip.
Duku is a design company overseeing the production of the prototype toilet cleaner for a client.
