Verano Brianza, Italy - Polyurethane machinery maker OMS Group has long been involved in the design of energy-efficient machinery to ensure its customers can save costs during their production processes.
So, when it carried out an internal audit of manufacturing process, the Verano Brianza-based group decided to apply those same principles. As a result, it has invested more than Euro 700 000 ($961 500) to install a roof-mounted photovoltaic energy system at its headquarters.
OMS has completely renewed and insulated the main roof areas, and then installed photo-voltaic panels, to give a new system which will enable the company to generate up to 199 KW of electrical energy and make it completely self-sufficient in electricity.
It will also be able to feed any excess energy back into the main power grid.
