Verano Brianza, Italy -- Bayer Materials Science has selected OMS Group to supply a new "pilot plant" for installation in BMS' prestigious research and development facility in Leverkusen, Germany.
The new plant will be excess of 70 metres long and will be able to process formulations for both profiled metal and flexible substrate panels.
The line will include flexible paper decoilers, a roll-forming machine for profiled metal product, a multi-component metering group, double-belt conveyor, cross-cut saw, a panel-cooling line and an automatic stacking line.
"This decision by Bayer Material Science in favour of OMS Group is a validation of all the efforts the group has made over the past 10 years to be at the leading edge of continuous plant technology," said OMS Group commercial director Eraldo Greco, in a 19 April company statement.
"Over the past few years we have supplied complete turnkey plants to the principal industry players world-wide and we have developed many innovative, dedicated technical solutions to meet the continuously changing developments in materials and production technologies", Greco continued.
The OMS executive added that OMS's expertise in machines for high speed production of flexible-faced and conventional metal-, wood- and gypsum-faced composite panels "has been recognised by the world leader in the polyurethanes supply industry."
The contract was gained against stiff competition from the industry's major suppliers, said OMS.
