Bidford-on-Avon, UK – The latest addition to Techsil’s portfolio is a new pearl polyurethane resin designed to encapsulate electronic devices containing LEDs. Techsil PU23955 cures to a tough, scratch-resistant, opalescent material that diffuses transmitted light.

Importantly, the cured resin allows for a high transmission of diffused light while hiding the underlying electronic components. This affords the electronics both environmental and visual protection.
The resin is a two-part flexible 55 shore D pourable potting polyurethane that cures to a translucent material that is stable in UV light. Once mixed, the system reacts at room temperature, forming a material with good resistance to both abrasion and hydrolysis.
Applications include assemblies, tracks, LED arrays, luminaires, uplights and lighting.
