Oleshky, Ukraine – OSV has launched its SmartLab metering and mixing machine for lab and R&D applications with MDI and quasi MDI-based systems.
The machine is designed to do the same work as big industrial elastomer machines, but on a much smaller footprint. New components can be loaded into the machines and elastomers cast within half an hour, the company said.
The SmartLab's tanks hold between 10 l and 15 l making it well suited to casting small numbers of samples, the company said.
An additional mixer and mixing chamber can also be fitted to the machine. This allows two-component systems to be processed. Typical systems could include foamed formulations for filters, gaskets, moulds and rapid prototyping.
A customer in Warsaw has received the first OSV machine. The customer specified separate catalyst and pigment metering lines as well as an additional mixing head kit.
