Brussels - Jörg Palmersheim will take over as secretary general of ISOPA, the European diisocyanate and polyol producers' association, on 1 Jan 2013. In this role he will also act as sector group manager of ALIPA, which represents Europe's manufacturers of aliphatic isocyanates and polyisocyanates
Since 2007, Palmersheim has been vice president and head of polyurethane systems Automotive & Diversified Industries and TPU resins at Bayer International Fribourg SA in Switzerland.
Palmersheim has more than 25 years of experience in marketing and sales, more than half of which he spent in the polyurethanes business.
He succeeds Dr Wolfram Frank, who had been secretary general of ISOPA and sector group manager of ALIPA since April 2008. Frank will retire after more than 30 years activity in the chemical industry.
ISOPA's members include: BASF, Bayer MaterialScience, BorsodChem, Dow, Huntsman, Vencorex, Repsol and Shell Chemicals. ISOPA is an affiliate of the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic).
Members of ALIPA include: BASF, Bayer MaterialScience, Vencorex and Evonik. ALIPA is a sector group within Cefic.
