Woodridge, Illinois — Biopolyol maker, Elevance Renewable Sciences, has named Tony Parnell as its new ceo.
Parnell new ceo at Elevance
Prior to this appointment, Parnell spent 32 years with Albemarle. He replaces Lynne Johnson, who was the firm’s founding ceo in 2007. Johnson will now be executive chairman of the board. She said in a release that Parnell’s background “gives Elevance proven industry expertise in efficient and effective business practices necessary for revenue growth and profitability.”
Parnell was Albemarle’s vice president of the firm’s global sales and supply chain.
Elevance operates a 180 kT/year palm oil-based biofeedstock plant in Gresik, Indonesia, which makes a rage of biobased materials for polyurethane.
The firm plans to open a second plant with over 270 kT/year capacity in Natchez, Mississippi, in 2016. That plant will make products based on canola oil or soybean oil.
