Scott: Challenging environment
'In the third quarter, we continued to face a challenging operating environment, with global industry production down 3% year over year,' said Ray Scott, Lear's CEO.
Core Operating Earnings across the business fell 15% and hit $338m the third quarter of 2019
The company's seating business had sales which rose by 1% between the third quarter of 2018 and 2019. They were $3.7 bn in the third quarter of 2019. This compares with $3.7 bn the third quarter 2018.
At the same time, segment earnings in the division declined by 4%%. Earnings hit $281.5m in the third quarter of 2019. This compares with $294m the 2018 period.
