Perstorp, Sweden - Speciality chemicals and caprolactones producer, Perstorp has announced plans to double capacity of its recently acquired Capa caprolactones plant in Warrington, England.
In a 3 June statement the company said the expanded capacity is expected to be operational in the first half of 2010.
Perstorp also explained that its investment in doubling capacity of both monomer and polycaprolactone polyol production is in direct response to the rapid growth of the caprolactones market.
"We are investing in Capa Caprolactones and predict a bright future for these products that complement our current portfolio of special polyols perfectly and give our customers an edge in spearheading the development of new products and applications," said Martin Olausson, vice president of caprolactones for Perstorp.
Caprolactones are used in such applications such as resin-modification, waterborne polyurethane coatings, cast polyurethane elastomers and hot-melt adhesives.
