Perstorp, Sweden - Swedish speciality chemicals company Perstorp has launched a new range of polycarbonate diols for high-performance polyurethane coatings.
Perstorp says it will launch its new range-called Oxymer-at the European Coatings Show 2007 in Nuremberg, Germany, in mid-May.
These products will "enable formulators to secure excellent UV [ultraviolet] and chemical resistance, hydrolytic stability and outdoor weatherability of polyurethane dispersion (PUD) coatings and elastomers," said a 24 April Perstorp statement.
"Polycarbonate diols represent a winning technology that is growing very quickly and taking market shares from other macrodiols," said Hakan Björnberg, Perstorp business development director, in the statement, adding that, "The polyurethane dispersions market especially is expected to benefit from our new Oxymer products."Perstorp has started large-scale production of the Oxymer diols, and started to sell the first two products, worldwide. These are Oxymer M112, for hard surface coatings and Oxymer M56 for leather coatings and elastomers.
"These competitively priced polycarbonate diols aim to help formulators achieve outstanding outdoor durability and chemical resistance in end products," said Perstorp. epw"
