Perstorp, Sweden -- Speciality chemicals company Perstorp will increase prices for trimethylolpropane (TMP) and neopentyl glycol (Neo) with effect from 1 March 2012 or as existing contracts permit.
Perstorp will increase TMP and NPG prices by Euro 150/tonne in Europe and by $200/tonne in all other markets.
The increases are due to higher cost of operation related to raw material, energy and logistics, said Perstorp.
Perstorp will also increase the price of its Capa caprolactone monomer and polymers, with effect from 1 March 2012, or as existing contracts permit.
Prices will be increased by up to Euro 200/tonne in Europe, GBP 170/tonne in the UK , $0.12/lb in North America, Y20/kg in Japan and $260/ton Asia & rest of the world.
This price increase is necessitated by" increasing raw material prices that cannot be absorbed," Perstorp said.
Separately, Perstorp will increase the price of 2-Ethylhexanoic Acid (2-EHA) on 1 March, 2012, or as existing contracts permit, as follows:
Europe Euro 120/tonne
US, Canada & Mexico $0.07/lb
South & Central America $150 $/tonne
Asia, Africa & Middle East $150/tonne
Perstorp said this increase is driven by increased prices on raw materials.
