Louisville, Kentucky – The Polyurethane Foam Association (PFA) made two Lifetime Achievement awards at its Fall meeting. It also inducted a new member into its Hall of Fame. All three were made posthumously.
The new inductee to the Hall of Fame is Jake Barnhardt, former president of North Carolina-based foam manufacturer NCFI. Barnhardt was also one of the driving forces behind the establishment of PFA. He died in 2018 at the age of 82.
Van Delk and Tom Robitaille were given the lifetime achievement awards. Until his recent retirement, Delk was technical services manager at Dow. Robitaille was an antimicrobial specialist at Lonza. Both passed away earlier this year.
Also at the meeting, one new member was admitted. Healthcare US is the US business of the Chinese foamer.
