Loudon, Tennessee -- Foam industry pioneers, Dennis Peterson, Jerry Pool, and James Hollars have been inducted into the PFA (Polyurethane Foam Association) Flexible Polyurethane Foam (FPF) Hall of Fame.
The three foamers were inducted at a ceremony during the PFA's recent Spring General Business Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland, which also marked the thirtieth anniversary of the PFA, a 7 June statement said.
• Dennis Peterson was a founding father and first president of the PFA who spent most of his career working for Future Foam;
• Jerry Pool was instrumental in the PFA's collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency in the 1980s to eliminate CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) as auxiliary blowing agents, and;
• James Hollars, who served as the second president of the PFA, "was the voice of the industry in the early years," whose work focused on moulded foam in the automotive industry, the PFA added. (RD)
