Warsaw – Sales in the polyurethane segment of Chiech, Pianki, were up 29% in 2017 compared with 2016, according to figures released by the company.
In 2017, sales were PLN 143m ($42 m), up PLN 27m on 2016, the company said.
Chiech claimed a 16% share of the Polish polyurethane foam market in 2017. The company added that globally, production is very fragmented (over 1000 producers with 6 MT/year capacity). The company added that it believed the Polish polyurethane market to total 210 kT/year.
Ciech added that it had benefited from the local furniture industry 'achieved an above-average increase in output sold compared to other industrial sectors.'
Chich confirmed that it had increased the capacity at Pianki's block store in 2017.
Overall, Chiech had sales of PLN 2.3bn in 2017, compared with PLN 2.2 bn in 2016.
