Ashtabula, Ohio -- Pigment and chemical dispersions maker Plasticolors Inc. has acquired several non-urethane pigment dispersion product lines from Milliken & Co. for an undisclosed price.
The deal includes pigment dispersions based on nylon, epoxy, unsaturated polyester and similar materials. Production of those materials will be moved from a Milliken plant in Aston, Pennsylvania., to Plasticolors' headquarters in Ashtabula, Ohio.
The acquisition "is consistent with our focus in supplying quality colourants and additives for high-performance speciality applications for thermoset plastics and coatings," Plasticolors president and ceo Scott Becker said in a 9 Jan news release.
For Plasticolors, the deal is its fifth acquisition in the last 12 years. The firm is a leading supplier of pigment and chemical dispersions used in auto components, epoxy flooring, electrical and appliance housings and other products.
