St Petersburg, Florida - Platinum Advanced Technologies Inc., which makes composite building products using rigid polyurethane foam insulation, has named R.B. (Rob) Coats as chief operating officer.
Coats has been with Platinum in September 2007 as vice president of Marketing and Sales, and is being promoted, "to continue training and building an effective management team at Platinum," said a statement from the group. Over the last 15 years, Coates has been involved in a number of start-up companies in real estate and manufacturing, along with a variety of residential construction ventures, said the company statement.
Platinum products are designed to provide builders with an edge in the market, said the company. They combine recycled light-gauge steel and polyurethane to offer a product that is "strong, energy efficient, environmentally conscious, decay resistant, and quicker and easier to install," the company said.
According to Platinum, its products are being used in buildings all over the Southeast states. Platinum's corporate offices are in St Petersburg, with manufacturing in Slocomb, Alabama.
As well as competitive pricing, the company describes other benefits of its technology as less job-site waste, straight, true walls and a cleaner, healthier indoor-air environment.
