Macclesfield, UK – Plixxent has bought MRi Polytech, a UK-based systems house that specialises in products for flooring and adhesives for food packaging.
No price was disclosed for the deal, which takes Plixxent into the UK for the first time. The company already has production sites in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and Spain.
Plixxent's CEO, Jorg Schottek, described MRi Polytech's development as impressive. 'With their broad expertise in complex polyurethane chemistry and their in-depth market understanding, MRI has built a strong market position,' he said.
Vincent Snell, MRi Polytech's founder and owner, said he was selling the company because it is time to open a new chapter. 'I am very proud of what the management team has achieved so far,' he said. Snell founded the company 20 years ago.
Systems house business Plixxent was spun out of Covestro in 2019. It is majority-owned by HIG Capital.
