Rubber and Plastics News staff report
Milwaukee, Wisconsin -- The Polyurethane Manufacturers Association has launched a scholarship competition aimed at creating awareness of cast polyurethanes among college students.
The PMA will award three $1000 student scholarships to students who exhibit the best use of cast polyurethane to replace a part traditionally made of plastic, rubber or metal.
Winners will be invited to showcase their work at the PMA's annual meeting 9-11 May in Las Vegas. Several processors and suppliers will be on hand for networking opportunities, the association said. Each winner attending the meeting will receive a $650 voucher to be used toward airfare and a two-night stay.
Completed entries and materials must be received no later than 15 Jan, the PMA said. Finalists will be notified by mail, at which point they will need to submit the finished part for judging. For full contest rules and regulations, visit the PMA scholarship site at www.pmahome.org/scholarship.aspx.
