Plymouth, Michigan -- Sealant Equipment & Engineering Inc.'s new Pneumatic Servo-Dispensing (PSD) system is a positive-rod displacement metering system that the company says "combines the cost efficiency of a pneumatic drive motor with the controlling accuracy of a servo drive motor."
SEE says the positive-rod method offers maximum dispensing precision and eliminates the need for a servo-drive motor or material flow meters in a dispensing system.
The PSD uses a pneumatic drive motor/servo package to give precisely metered volumes, accurate flow control and consistent bead profiles. Its pneumatic cylinder and positive displacement meter are lightweight and assembled into a single compact metering module for floor, robot or pedestal mounting.
SEE says the robot-integrated PSD system provides precision dispensing of fluids, with excellent response time for dispensing extruded beads.
The system is designed for long life and maximum uptime, the company says, with components readily accessible and easy to maintain.
The unit has its own control panel or can use automation integrated controls with dispensing software for a smaller footprint, lower system cost and one-stop operator control of the entire robotic dispensing system.
According to SEE, the PSD is ideal for applications such as dispensing adhesives, casting, filling, gasketing, moulding, sealing, and many other uses. It is designed to dispense adhesives and sealants such as 1-part epoxies, mastics, silicones, urethanes and abrasive materials.
