Michigan, US – Dow is gearing up to produce Voranol WK5750 at its ISCC Plus-certified polyol plant in Freeport, Texas. The polyether polyol is designed for soft and hyper-soft slabstock flexible foams.
Applications include mattresses, furniture and automotive seating. “Its ability to serve as a powerful cell opener further extends its utility to viscoelastic and high resiliency foam applications, offering unprecedented softness and resilience,” the company said.
The polyol’s enhanced reactivity gives better cross-linking across a range of applications. Its viscosity is in the range 1000-1500cSt at 25°C, balancing ease of processing and performance, it said. It has a maximum water content of 0.06% by weight, and a maximum colour specification of 50 APHA, ensuring products maintain visual quality.
