Guangzhou, Guangdong - Guangzhou Supe Chemical is set to complete a 6,000m2 polyurea project for the cistern of the Pingan International Finance Center in Shenzhen, Guangdong in October.
The project will waterproof and insulate the 660m high structure.
Another project, providing polyurea protection to Hong Kong’s 24,400m2 Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, is earmarked for completion in 2016.
The waer-tank project was started in May 2014 with an RMB2.5mn ($408,000) contract price. In the project, polyurea paint is sprayed at high temperature and high pressure for waterproofing and polyurethane foam is sprayed for insulation.
Hu Xiangdong, Supe’s director of business affairs with, said: "The seamless layer has good performance on any irregular surface.”
The bridge project is valued at RMB4.3mn and began in December 2012. It uses a two-component, solvent-free sprayable polyurea elastomer, which "solidified within a few seconds and is also environment friendly," said Hu.
Supe is negotiating another much bigger project for the bridge using a newly developed paint, but Hu refused to disclose more details. According to Hu, the company had RMB480mn revenue in 2013 of which RMB70mn was from polyurea products.
