Brussels -- Umicore, which makes bismuth-and zinc-based catalysts for the polyurethane industry has been ranked as the most sustainable company in the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World index.
The index is published annually since 2005 by Corporate Knights, an independent media and investment research company based in Toronto, Canada
Marc Grynberg, CEO of Umicore, said the award was an "encouragement to continue to grow our business in a sustainable way. While we still have much work to do, this recognition shows that we are on the right track" Corporate Knights collected data for the project primarily from Bloomberg and through direct engagement with the 350 companies that made the project's shortlist, selected from approximately 4,000 global mid and large cap stocks.
