Tokyo--SUS Corporation has developed pre-fabricated aluminium dwelling units that rely on polyurethane foam for their insulation.
The units are 2.4m high, 3.9m wide and 2.3m long the buildings rely on polyurethane insulation, developed in house by SUS, to provide insulation from heat and noise.
Units feature air conditioning, a shower, toilet, bed TV, kitchen. Called t2, the units are transportable by lorry and can be slotted together in small villages around a vertical framework with steps. Units are designed to be portable. They are priced at around Yen 2.9 million ($29,300) each.
SUS is known in Japan for producing aluminium components, bus shelters and smoking shelters.
