Cleveland, Ohio -- A polyurethane core has been chosen for a new heavy duty protective glove aimed at mechanics.
Safety Today’s new SmartShell BKCR4599 glove from its Brass Knuckle range is claimed to resist cuts, oil and moisture.
The shock-absorbent and non-tacky slip-resistant gloves are also breathable and flexible, the firm said.
The core of the three-layer gloves is a grey polyurethane fabric, with elastane in the liner to confer cut resistance, and a grippy nitrile surface providing the moisture barrier.
Impact resistance comes from padding on the palm, and sonically welded thermoplastic rubber on the back of the hand.
"This is a heavy hitter," said the company’s vp Tony Spearing. "This glove separates itself with its wearability, and we exhaustively designed it to impress on this front."
