Jeddah, -- Machinery from Italian firm Orma Macchine and Korean company Kindus have been chosen by Saudi Arabia's Sandwich Panel Factory (SPF) for its new production lines.
A branch of Hasan bin Al Hayas & Company, SPF’s expansion plans aim to meet the increased demand for insulation panels for what the company calls a “boom” in residential and commercial building.
Mohammed Al Khateeb, SPF general manager said a Kindus line can produce up to 480m of wall and roof panels in an hour. He said that capacity included panels of varying thickness and types.
According to the press release, SPF chose Orma to supply and install a new moulding line for cold rooms/stores insulation panels.
SPF is looking to modify production lines in order to phase out the use of 141 gases in the production said Khateeb. "The polyurethane used in insulation panel manufacturing is known for not emanating gases or any other harmful substances, and thus does not produce or cause the production of any radioactive elements," said Khateeb.
