Heidenheim, Germany - Slovenian paper manufacturer Radece papir doo has discovered that, by operating with rollers using Voith's polyurethane covers, it has been able to increase the dryness after the first press of the PM 4 by 0.8 percent, said an 11 Nov statement from Voith.
This greater dryness is a result of "the special surface designs of Voith's polyurethane covers," the statement added.
A press analysis with unique Voith measurement equipment provided the necessary data. Based on the results, Voith carried out a water balance analysis and calculated the optimum surface design for this application. Surface configurations of Voith's polyurethane covers are "very flexible and allow an individual adjustment to the customer needs," the company said.
"The deployment of the polyurethane cover was a complete success. The dryness after the first press of our PM 4 increased by 0.8 percent … The Voith covers are a worthwhile investment," confirmed Ales Knavs, production technologist at Radece papir, based in the Slovenian town of Radece.
