Osnabrück, Germany -- Polyvanced has developed customer-specific "green" polyurethane technical tubing using raw materials such as corn sugar, castor oil and ethanol from sugar cane, a 2 March company statement said.
"The demand from industry for environmentally friendly materials is constantly growing," said Polyvanced ceo, Robert Mayr. "All of this confirms the direction efforts in our development department have been taking," he added.
The polyol components for PU tubing, the statement said, are being produced from corn sugar or rapeseed oil.
The German company said it is producing individual products in partnership with its customers internationally and is not using a standard range of products.
Mayr said the product characteristics are comparable with those of other standard commercial types and that Polyvanced is still conducting tests covering various planned applications. "The new environmentally friendly range is characterised by the highest in flexibility and economy," Mayr added. (RD)"
