Morris Township, New Jersey-Honeywell has increased prices for its Enovate blowing agent (HFC-245fa), with effect from 1 Jan 2006. Prices will increase by 9 percent for all orders shipped after 31 Dec 2005 as contracts allow, Honeywell said. The US-headquartered speciality chemical supplier said, "unprecedented and sustained increases in costs for energy and raw materials," were behind the price change. Honeywell said that its Enovate material is "the leading non-ozone depleting blowing agent for use in rigid polyurethane insulating foams." The company added that this good performance is a result of "ease of process conversion, non-flammable liquid handling, broad applications window, and superior performance in end-products where energy efficiency is important."
