Minas Gerais, Brazil – Contractor Merco Geopolimeros used polyurethane foam from Prime Resins to level the floor under 300,000 litre tanks at a major bottled drinks manufacturer in Brazil’s Minas Gerais province. Mudjacking attempts had already failed.
A corner of the concrete pad beneath one tank had settled by 5cm (2.5 inches) , causing it to leak. Another problem had occurred under a heat exchanger. Exploratory holes revealed voids under the slabs.
They injected the high density polyurethane structural foam Precision Lift 4.0# to fill the voids. A third location required soil stabilisation, and this was achieved using Prime Flex 920, a hydrophobic structural polyurethane foam.
All the work done without shutting down production.
