Sugarcreek, Ohio - Residential door maker ProVia Door is expanding its products with a series of steel and fibreglass entry doors that meet the Florida Building Code (FBC).
Called Coastal Impact Products, these provide superior protection from the harshest weather conditions, including heavy winds, rain and flying debris -- without sacrificing the custom-designed appeal homeowners have come to expect from ProVia Door, the company says.
The line gives homeowners the freedom to create an entrance that will enhance their home's "curb appeal" and improve its energy efficiency. It is available in fibreglass. Woodgrain-textured or smooth steel varieties, and with one or two sidelites and French (double) doors, which have also been tested and approved for coastal use in Florida. Using laminated glass increases security and decreases sound transmission, said the Sugarcreek. Ohio-based company.
ProVia doors have an exclusive heavy-duty extruded threshold that will not warp or rot; weather-stripping along the top and sides of the door that interlocks with the corner seal to keep moisture, air and dirt out of the home; and a polyurethane core to help reduce energy loss.
The new type also incorporate a 20-gauge security plate for extra strength "to help prevent kick-ins," the company said.
