OSIC brought three products developed last year to the show. These were a a high efficiency silicone surfactant, a low emission balanced catalyst, and an aldehyde absorbent. The surfactant and catalyst are designed with high performance for high resilience moulded foam.
The company said third-party tests show the surfactant’s TVOC emission to be just over 3,900μg/m3. Third-party tests put the catalyst’s TVOC emission at around 1,000μg/m3.
Last year, OSIC had double digit growth in revenue, reaching CNY 140m ($20m). Guo said the company had low capacity utilisation as a result of environmental regulations and rising raw material prices.
Guo has worries elsewhere: ‘Our products are not on the US tariffs lists, but some of our US clients have already started shifting to other regions’ suppliers just in case they might be.’
