By Liz White, UT staffBognor Regis, UK-A new outdoor lantern collection from JCC Lighting made using polyurethane, offers an "extremely tough and saline-resistant," system, the maker claims. On tall post lanterns in the new 'Fumagalli' range, ridged polyurethane encloses a central column of galvanised steel, giving a tougher and lighter construction than traditional types. The materials give "fine detailing and a flawless finish "almost impossible to tell from genuine wrought iron or metal," JCC said.Lantern heads and the outer skin of the post lanterns are made from a resin which, JCC claims, is resistant to ultra-violet light, saline and pollution, preventing the finish from deteriorating. Fumagalli is thus maintenance-free: no painting is required to retain the original appearance, so they are, "suitable for use in all outdoor environments, even coastal locations," with a lifetime guarantee against corrosion.
