Irving, Texas -- Schnee-Morehead's foam plant in Irving in Dallas, Texas, was temporarily shutdown and evacuated on the morning of 7 June after a fire broke out on the roof of the building, local news reports said.
Schnee-Morehead is a producer of polyurethane, silicone, acrylic and foam sealants. Although the fire broke out in the area where the company's PU products are held, fire investigators do not believe any chemicals were involved, instead pointing to a static spark as a likely cause of the fire, the reports said.
One news report cited the fire investigators saying around $100 000 of damage was caused by the fire. No-one was hurt. (RD)
